Sound on: Funny Video Captures Marmots ‘Talking’ to Each Other

Martina Gebert is a wildlife photographer and a fan of marmots, and it’s easy to see why. They’re pretty cute, and apparently they’re also funny. Gebert recently posted a video of marmots “talking” to each other on her Instagram page, and it’s definitely worth a listen.

“The marmots are discussing things again,” Gebert wrote in her Instagram caption. “And what is it about this time?”

The sound that comes out of the marmots’ faces is unexpected. It’s kind of like a squeak, but it’s also kind of like a squawk. The animals are also chewing on something as they squeak/squawk, which adds to the comedy. The marmots’ faces are also funny to watch as they interact. It makes us wonder what’s going on between these two.

Any theories on what they’re “saying” to each other?
