See a Brown Bear and Her Cub Interact on a Trail Cam in Alaska

We love that trail cameras offer the ability to glimpse nature in ways humans would never be able to see otherwise. What animals do away from humans’ prying eyes is sometimes brutal, sometimes hilarious, and sometimes beautiful, like some recent trail-cam footage of a brown bear and her cub snuggling in Alaska.

Donna Gail Shaw has trail cameras placed near Anchorage, Alaska, and she helps run a Facebook group called Muldoon Area Trail Photos and Videos, in which people can share their trail photos and videos of local wildlife. Shaw is the owner of the camera that recently caught a wolf pack chasing and eating a moose, but not all the action her trail cams catch is brutal.

In July, Shaw’s cameras captured some peaceful moments in the middle of a forest. A brown bear and her cub walk slowly into view. They stop in front of the camera, interacting sweetly and giving the camera a perfect view.
